Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 1st, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Rex Entertainment Corp. ("Rex," "we," "us," or "our"), a Wyoming corporation with its principal place of business in Austin, Texas, collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the Rex mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using Rex, you agree to this Privacy Policy. Your use of Rex is also governed by our Terms of Service.
Rex is an entertainment discovery app. It is not a streaming service, and it does not host, stream, sell, or distribute movies or TV shows. Rex helps you discover content and, where available, connect to third-party platforms that may offer it.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us. When you create an account or use Rex, you may provide:
Account information, such as your email address and a username or display name. Rex does not require you to provide your legal name.
Preferences, such as the streaming services you select, genres, and other tastes.
Activity you create in the app, such as watchlists, saved titles, ratings, likes, and dislikes.
Optional demographic information you choose to share to improve recommendations.
Group activity, such as your votes, selections, and preferences within a group discovery session.
Messages and prompts you submit to Rex's AI features, such as Ask Rex AI.
Communications you send us, such as support requests or feedback.
Information we collect automatically. When you use Rex, we may automatically collect:
Device and app information, such as device type, operating system, app version, language settings, and device identifiers.
Usage information, such as features used, titles viewed, searches, interactions, and time spent in the app.
Approximate location, derived from your IP address or device settings, used for content availability and regional features. We do not collect precise GPS location unless you grant permission for a feature that requires it.
Log and diagnostic data, such as IP address, crash reports, and performance data.
Information from third parties. We may receive:
Entertainment metadata (such as titles, posters, descriptions, cast, genres, and availability) from third-party content data providers. This information is about movies and TV shows, not about you.
Analytics and measurement data from service providers that help us understand how Rex is used. We use Google Analytics for Firebase for this purpose.
Limited information from app stores or authentication providers when you download Rex or sign in, in accordance with their policies.
Payment information. If you make a purchase, payment is processed by the applicable app store or payment provider (for example, Apple). Rex does not directly store full credit card numbers. We may receive limited transaction information, such as confirmation of a purchase, subscription status, and the date and amount.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
Generate and personalize movie and TV recommendations based on your preferences, watchlists, ratings, likes, dislikes, demographic information, and in-app activity.
Operate group discovery features, including sharing relevant activity with other participants in a session.
Improve and develop the Service, including testing new features and understanding usage trends.
Communicate with you, including service-related messages and, where permitted, product updates.
Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
Protect the security and integrity of the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
Comply with legal obligations and exercise or defend legal claims.
Recommendation and AI processing. To generate recommendations and to power features like Ask Rex AI, we and our service providers process information about your preferences and activity, as well as the prompts and messages you submit, including through automated systems and third-party recommendation and artificial-intelligence technologies. We may share a limited set of this information with these providers solely to generate suggestions and responses for you, and they are not permitted to use it to train their own models except as needed to provide the service to us or as otherwise disclosed. These automated systems suggest content for informational and entertainment purposes and do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share information in the following circumstances:
Service providers. With vendors who perform services for us, such as hosting, data storage, analytics (including Google Analytics for Firebase), customer support, and recommendation or AI processing. These providers are permitted to use the information only to perform services for us and not for their own purposes.
Group participants. When you use group discovery features, certain activity — such as your votes, selections, preferences, or recommendations — may be visible to other participants in that session.
App stores and payment providers. With the applicable app store or payment processor to complete and manage purchases and subscriptions.
At your direction. When you choose to connect to or open a third-party platform through Rex, your interaction with that platform is governed by its own privacy policy.
Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect the rights, property, or safety of Rex, our users, or others, or enforce our Terms of Service.
Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
We use Google Analytics for Firebase as our service provider and have configured it to process information on our behalf for analytics, and not for its own purposes or for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use advertising SDKs or share identifiers with advertising networks. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide any opt-out required by law.
4. Third-Party Services and Links
Rex may display information from, link to, or connect you with third-party platforms, including streaming services, video platforms, websites, or apps. Rex does not control these third parties and is not responsible for their content or privacy practices. When you access a third-party service, that service's own terms and privacy policy apply.
5. Group Discovery and Visibility
Rex offers group discovery features that let users join shared sessions, vote on titles, and receive group recommendations. When you participate, some of your activity may be visible to other people in that session. Please consider what you share when using group features. Each participant must have their own account and meet the eligibility requirements in our Terms of Service.
6. Your Choices and Controls
Account information. You can review and update certain account information within the app.
Account deletion. You may request deletion of your account through the app or by contacting support@rexapp.ai, as described in our Terms of Service. When your account is deleted, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with it, unless we are required or permitted to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute-resolution, or operational reasons.
Communications. You can opt out of promotional messages by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages. We may still send you service-related communications.
Device permissions. You can manage permissions, such as location, through your device settings.
Analytics. Where available, you can use device-level privacy controls to limit analytics identifiers, and where required we will request your consent before using non-essential analytics.
7. Children's Privacy
Rex is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use Rex. If you are under 18, you may use Rex only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it and may suspend or delete the associated account, subject to applicable law. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us at support@rexapp.ai.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, after which we delete or de-identify it. The length of time depends on factors such as the nature of the information, the reason we collected it, your account status, and our legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
10. International Data Transfers
Rex is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries that may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers, as described in the European/UK section below.
11. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, provides you with certain rights regarding your personal information.
Categories of personal information we collect. In the past 12 months, we may have collected the following categories: identifiers (such as email address and device identifiers); customer records (such as account details); commercial information (such as subscription or purchase history); internet or other electronic network activity (such as app usage and interactions); approximate geolocation data; characteristics of protected classifications under California or federal law, but only where you choose to provide them (such as age or gender, as optional demographic information); and inferences drawn from the above (such as preferences used for recommendations). We collect these from you directly, automatically through your use of the Service, and from the third-party sources described in Section 1.
Purposes. We use these categories for the purposes described in Section 2 and disclose them to the categories of recipients described in Section 3.
Sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. We use Google Analytics for Firebase as a service provider, configured to process information on our behalf and not for its own purposes or for advertising. If this changes, we will update this Policy and provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" opt-out, which you may also exercise at any time by emailing support@rexapp.ai with that subject line.
Sensitive personal information. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require us to offer a right to limit such use under California law. If this changes, we will update this Policy and provide the required choices.
Your rights. Subject to certain exceptions, you have the right to: know and access the personal information we have collected about you; request deletion of your personal information; request correction of inaccurate personal information; opt out of any "sale" or "sharing"; and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
How to exercise your rights. You may submit a request by emailing support@rexapp.ai. We will verify your request, which may require confirming information associated with your account. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf with proper authorization.
12. Your European and UK Privacy Rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the following applies. Rex Entertainment Corp. is the controller of your personal data.
Legal bases. We process personal data on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you request); our legitimate interests (such as improving and securing the Service and personalizing recommendations, where not overridden by your rights); your consent (for example, for certain optional features or communications, which you may withdraw at any time); and compliance with legal obligations.
Your rights. Subject to applicable law, you have the right to: access your personal data; request rectification of inaccurate data; request erasure; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
International transfers. When we transfer personal data outside the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards where required, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism.
Exercising your rights. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@rexapp.ai. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
13. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Rex and our service providers may use SDKs, device identifiers, cookies, and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, measure performance, and understand usage. This includes Google Analytics for Firebase, which uses identifiers to measure how the app is used. You can manage some of these technologies through your device settings, and where required we will request your consent before using non-essential analytics. Disabling certain technologies may affect how the Service functions.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app, by email, or by updating the effective date above. Your continued use of Rex after the updated Policy becomes effective means you accept the changes.
